My name is Martin, I’m from Slovakia. This BMW X5 G05 from 2021 started as a family SUV for me — comfortable, fast, finished in a beautiful blue color. I genuinely enjoyed driving it, but over time I noticed something: while sitting in traffic, my eyes kept drifting toward tastefully customized cars. That’s when I realized it would be great to give my BMW a bit more visual character as well.

At first, it was pure curiosity. I began paying attention to other X5 builds, noticing which styling elements worked and which ones ruined the overall look. Pretty quickly, I understood one thing: I didn’t want a fully carbon setup, and I didn’t want everything painted in one color either. I was looking for something more refined — a carefully balanced mix of materials and accents.

How I came to LARTE Design

After reviewing many tuning studios, I stopped at LARTE Design. I left a request on their website, and soon I was contacted by my manager, Ekaterina. I was honest from the start: I didn’t fully know what I wanted yet, but I knew it shouldn’t be a random set of parts.

We started discussing ideas. I asked a lot of questions, shared references, and talked through colors and combinations. Ekaterina suggested different options, explained how each element would look specifically on a blue body, where carbon would work best and where painted parts would make more sense. It was a calm, thoughtful process, without pressure or rushing. Step by step, the final configuration came together. We went through many variations, but eventually found the one that felt absolutely right.

Configuration

In the end, we created a mixed setup using carbon and painted elements:

front splitter
side sills
rear diffuser with round exhaust tips and brake lights
upper spoiler in gloss black

The hood was left in the body color, which helped maintain balance and kept the front end from feeling too heavy. Elements made from carbon: kidney grille frame, mirror caps, lower spoiler.

This combination delivered exactly the effect I was aiming for. The car became more expressive and sporty, yet still cohesive and not overly aggressive.

Installation and result

The installation took place in Slovakia at a local dealer and went smoothly. Every part fit perfectly, with no gaps or adjustments needed. The car now looks more premium and composed, and most importantly, it finally has the individuality I was missing.

Looking back, I realize that the most important part of this project wasn’t the parts themselves, but the approach. The time spent discussing and choosing every detail paid off completely. This wasn’t impulse tuning — it was a thoughtful process where every element truly found its place.

Now I catch myself smiling when someone in traffic looks over and flashes their high beams in approval. Maybe one day they’ll discover the world of tuning too — and become just a little happier because of it.
