Why I decided to upgrade my X6
Hi, I’m Ryan. I run a restaurant in Zurich, and last summer I bought myself a BMW X6 G06 LCI. Incredible machine — power, comfort, and all the right sounds. I loved it… at first. But after a few months of owning it, I started noticing the same car everywhere. Same wheels, same trim, same everything.
And it hit me — I didn’t want to blend in. I wanted the car to reflect me. Something personal, something that made people stop and look. That’s when I started searching for options to upgrade my BMW X6 G06 beyond the factory look.
I went through Instagram, YouTube, tuning forums — all of it. Some kits looked promising, others were ridiculously cheap, which immediately made me suspicious. Once I dug a little deeper, I realized most of those were knock-offs. Cheap plastic with poor fitment and zero support. That’s not what I wanted on a car like this.

Finding the right team — and making the leap
Finding the right team — and making the leap
Eventually, I found the BMW X6 G06 LCI tuning projects by LARTE Design. At first, I wasn’t sure — I’ve never modified a car before. But the photos stopped me in my tracks. These weren’t minor tweaks. They were real transformations. Sharp, elegant, and bold.
I messaged them and got a reply from Alina, who ended up helping me through the whole process. I had plenty of questions — especially about quality and warranty. I even went to my local BMW dealer to check if adding a BMW X6 G06 LCI body kit would affect my warranty. They said no, as long as it’s visual and properly installed — which gave me peace of mind.
I didn’t want to go overboard. I wanted the car to look stronger, wider, more confident — not like it was trying too hard. So I went with the rear diffuser and upper spoiler, both in gloss black. They made the biggest visual difference without changing the DNA of the car. I skipped the side skirts — they just didn’t feel necessary for my setup.
And here’s the funny part: at the very last moment, I decided to add the hood. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on it at all, but once I saw the renderings, I knew the front of the car needed the same bold presence as the rear.

The result and what I learned
The result and what I learned
Now that it’s installed, I can say this confidently: the upgrade changed everything.
The rear end looks bolder. The lines are tighter. And yes — people notice. I’ve had strangers come up and ask about the kit. Even some of my customers at the restaurant recognized it and wanted to know where I got it.
Was it the cheapest option? No. But honestly, I’d rather invest once and feel proud every time I walk up to my car, than spend less and regret it. The custom body kit gave me back that feeling of loving the car I drive — not just for how it handles, but for how it looks.
Funny enough, my wife didn’t care much at first. She said, “It’s just a car.” But the moment she saw the finished version, her reaction was:
“Okay… now that’s different.”
That’s exactly what I was after. The price made me hesitate, but the result made me glad I went for it. This car doesn’t just get me from point A to B. Now, it tells people who I am — before I even get out.
