My name is Zhang Wei, I am from Shanghai. This Mercedes-AMG G 63 was never meant to be a personal car or daily transportation. From the very beginning, it was conceived as a project — a vehicle designed to attract attention instantly, stay in memory, and create an emotional response at first glance.
There was a clear reason for this approach: preparation for Auto Shanghai 2024. In such a context, the mindset changes completely. It is not about meeting expectations, but about shaping them. The car had to look bold, confident, and modern, while remaining a recognizable G-Class with a strong character.

Why LARTE Design
Why LARTE Design
I was already familiar with LARTE Design dealers in Shanghai. This was a partner project, and from the start we worked as a single team. It was important to me that the car felt complete — not only on the outside, but also inside. LARTE had exactly the experience and vision that matched the scale and format of a major international auto show.
We immediately decided to move toward an unconventional color solution. That is how the gradient wrap was born: clean white at the front, gradually transitioning into a cool blue at the rear. This transition emphasizes movement and direction. On the stand, the car literally pulled people in.

A complete concept, not individual parts

The carbon body kit from LARTE Design became the core of the entire look. It enhanced the shape of the G 63, added structure and visual clarity, while remaining in harmony with the color concept. The hood and rear section stand out especially — this is where carbon creates the right balance between aggression and exhibition presence.
We also paid special attention to the interior. Together with LARTE dealers in Shanghai, the cabin was fully reworked: materials, details, and signature LARTE branding. It was essential that the interior continued the same story as the exterior. Not just a show car, but a cohesive, finished project.

At Auto Shanghai 2024, this G 63 became one of the most talked-about vehicles. People stopped, took photos, asked questions. The car performed exactly as intended — as a visual and emotional statement.
For me, this project confirmed that the right team and a shared vision can create more than just a car. They can create an impression. And that is what truly stays in memory.
