This Maybach feels like it was built exclusively for me

My name is Christian, I live in Hamburg. Earlier this year, I picked up my new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 facelift in Brooklyn Grey — a rare configuration I had been waiting for over several months. The car impressed me with its comfort and technology, yet visually it felt a bit too proper. Too classic, almost restrained. I previously had a disappointing experience with another atelier: the “carbon” installed on my BMW X7 faded within a year and started cracking. That’s why I approached any Maybach styling proposals with skepticism.

I first heard about LARTE Design from a dealer I know — he showed me photos of the new styling kit for the facelifted Maybach GLS, featuring a full carbon exterior and exclusive wheels designed specifically for this model. I asked for more details, and their manager, Elizabeth, reached out to me.

She explained in detail the difference between real structural carbon parts and carbon-look lamination, which is often used in lower-quality projects. She also walked me through the technologies LARTE Design uses — from pre-preg carbon to high-grade hand-laid carbon — and how both methods ensure strength, durability, and a flawless visual finish. She showed real projects, part serial numbers, TÜV certification for the materials, and photos from the production floor. Most importantly, she was transparent about everything: timelines, logistics, and any adjustments that might be needed during the process.

Together with Elizabeth, we built the configuration. She sent several render variations in Brooklyn Grey with different trim accents. In the end, we chose full carbon and multi-spoke LARTE wheels to give the car a sportier, more dynamic presence.

I sent the vehicle to Düsseldorf by enclosed transport. Even during the fitting stage, Elizabeth kept me updated — detailed photos of panel gaps, close-ups of joints, short videos of the process. I always felt involved and informed.
