My name is Thomas. I divide my time between Rotterdam and Zurich, and my recent gift to myself was a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 X167 in black. It is a refined and highly comfortable SUV, but I quickly noticed one thing: even a Maybach in black eventually looks similar to the other GLS models on the road. They appear powerful and respectable — but often too identical.

I wanted to avoid that. I wanted a Maybach that would look like a one-off project, not a standard dealership configuration.

Why I chose LARTE Design

I heard about the CHARISMA styling kit long before I seriously considered personalizing the car. What immediately impressed me was that LARTE manufactures all components by hand in Germany and uses full replacement parts — not carbon lamination or decorative add-ons.

My manager, Alex, explained the options in detail: a fully painted black styling package, the signature hood, front splitter, air-intake surrounds, rear diffuser, black-gloss anti-chrome elements, and LARTE wheels. In the visuals, everything looked so seamless that it felt as if Mercedes themselves had planned a sport package for the Maybach.

We discussed how to keep the GLS 600’s “quiet luxury” while adding individuality. In the end, we went in exactly the direction I wanted: removed the chrome, replaced it with black gloss, installed the new hood, refreshed the entire front section, and added the full painted kit.

How the process went

I brought the car to Düsseldorf myself. Even though the kit was new for me, the entire process was professional and straightforward. When the technicians test-fitted the hood, splitter, air-intake elements, diffuser, and the black-gloss anti-chrome parts, it became clear that the Maybach was gaining a more athletic, confident, and expressive look. My strongest impression came later — when I saw the car in the evening light on the office parking lot. The black bodywork combined with the deep black styling kit looked richer, sharper, and far more individual than any factory configuration.
