Suede Carbon: The Escalade That Was Coloured From the Inside Out

Suede Carbon: The Escalade That Was Coloured From the Inside Out

Most builds start on the outside. A colour for the body, a finish for the carbon, and then — if the interior gets touched at all — something to suit. This 2026 Cadillac Escalade Platinum Sport ran the other way.

One week before the car arrived at LARTE Design's atelier in Erkrath, its owner had the interior finished in a single Espresso tone: leather and suede in one shade throughout. That cabin became the brief. Every ESTHETE exterior component was produced in Suede Carbon, a brown developed against the seats rather than a catalogue.

Where black carbon stands now

Where black carbon stands now

Fifteen years ago, carbon fibre was the statement. Today, black weave ships as a factory option on nearly every performance package, from nearly every manufacturer. It remains a good-looking finish — and it will always be available from LARTE Design. But it has stopped being rare. What separates one Escalade from the next has moved from the material to the decision made about it.

Colour laid into the material

Colour laid into the material

Suede Carbon is introduced during layup, before the autoclave, so the tone cures inside the weave rather than sitting on top of it. There is no tint on a finished part, no film over a black substrate. On this build, the hood, mirror caps, splitter, fender extensions, rocker panels and rear diffuser all carry the colour through the material, matched panel by panel to the Espresso cabin they were built around.

ESTHETE for the 2024–2026 Escalade: a two-piece front fascia with integrated daytime running lights, a functional front splitter, a sculpted vented hood, flared wheel arches front and rear with matching rocker panels, mirror caps, and a rear diffuser with LARTE Design's signature vertical brake lights. Sixteen components in 100% dry carbon with Class-A surface finish. Every one mounts to the Escalade's factory attachment points — no cutting, no drilling — with parking sensors, cameras and driver-assistance systems fully preserved. The 6.2-litre V8 stays completely stock. TÜV-certified, produced in Germany. Forged wheels are available separately.

Espresso is one answer to one cabin. The same process takes any reference a client brings — a green interior, a violet one, two-tone stitching, a gradient across the panels — and develops a carbon tone against it. Classic black weave remains on the list. It is simply one option among several now.

Carbon used to mean rare. Now it means standard. Rarity moved inside — and this build followed it there.

Design leads. Engineering finds the way.
